Reflections in a Cup

Staring into the infinite ceramic circle I see

Not so much the future of me

But the true nature of reality.

Sometimes dark and seemingly opaque

These are the trying times

And normally a sagely character they make

The bitter taste is the lesson learned in making each mistake

The cream, sugar, and all the extra flavors

All are a special blend of rewards from all of love’s labors

Staring into the infinite ceramic circle I see

Not so much the future of me

But the true nature of reality.

All in a simple yet complex cup  of coffee

Tell me, in your morning cup…

What is it that you see?
