A Sonnet

Each time I look into your eyes
My soul enters into a state of unrest
The light of your soul causes my shield’s demise
I find myself longing for you, nothing but the very best
You provide me respite, like an oak on a summer’s day
You excite me like never before
I yearn to surrender to you in every single way
You have shaken my essence, and rocked me to my very core
Some may say that I’m merely your little whore
But I would give my all to remain with you evermore
For in return you have given me new life
And ended the seemingly everlasting strife
